Kimberley Swimming Club 'rising from the ashes' with new homes

Kimberley Swimming Club is looking forward to a brighter tomorrow again after securing training sessions at four new pools around Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

The club was left 'devastated and homeless' at the start of the year after it was confirmed that Kimberley Leisure Centre - it's home for 46 years - was closing as neither Broxtowe Council, nor Kimberley School could afford the £2.4m refurbishment costs needed to keep it going.

Members of the club protested outside council meetings at the time and an online petition calling for the centre to be kept open gained more than 3,500 signatures - but all to no avail.
